Parting with things made by late, beloved family members is especially difficult. I have chosen consignment as my primary route for parting with beautiful clothing designed by my sister, Beth Brett.

Things aren't worth what they used to be. If you decide to sell, you can do so through direct sales to buyers, by consigning or selling outside to dealers, or through yard sales. Each has its pros and cons.

Sometimes you get rid of things because they don't work. And then what do you do for a replacement, as you consider your downsizing goals? I contemplate my dead desktop.
